Emily

I remember meeting this beauty queen back when I was a senior in high school, and she was a sophomore. We were soon attached at the hip-inseparable. When I graduated, we gradually grew a part a little bit, and went in different directions, as some friends do. However, she and I would talk occasionally and it was like we never left one another singing "Jonas Brothers" songs- windows down back in high school (when they WERE cool.)

I always knew Emily would do something BIG and awesome, and before I knew it this girl was telling me she was moving to Africa for a year.. Not two weeks, a month, or even three months.. A YEAR. I was not surprised, and extremely happy for her. I remember thinking, "This is her calling. This is where God wants her to be. Loving on the cutest, chubbiest, little african kids." After nearly a year, she recently returned home to finish her degree so that she can eventually be a part of a program that will send her off somewhere to live and serve God, whether that be Africa, or Ukraine. Who knows? But I know she will go, and that is such a testimony of her steadfast trust and faith in the Lord. This girl is a blessing and an encouragement to my life, and I am SO proud of her! I am honored to know her and can not WAIT to see how God moves in her life. <3
I especially love you for even trying the "Hey, don't smile on this one."
